The Framework

Curriculum Evaluation and Research Framework: what it is and how it works

The CER-STEM framework encourages teaching teams to focus their efforts on enhancing student learning by viewing the quality of their course from three interconnected perspectives: improvement (QI), assurance (QA) and scholarship (SoTL). The framework facilitates the collection of a wide range of data for broad and deep analysis of curriculum and learning. It guides academics to work collaboratively within a culture of continuous review and quality improvement, making evidence-based design decisions. Data used for QI and QA purposes can be leveraged by applying a scholarly lens, resulting in publications and evidence for grant and award applications.
