Issue #13 Australian University Science

Acds13 Cover

The latest Issue of the ACDS magazine is out now and reflects on some of the developments that have been driven by university science and/or directly impacted by changes in expectation that have influenced the conduct of Australian University Science over the last 30 years.

The 30 year time-frame reflects that the ACDS was first established as a peak body to advocate  for university science in 1995.  Celebrating 30 years is a milestone for the ACDS but this edition maintains our broader focus on the changes in university science over this period. The articles highlight the ever changing nature of university science and reflect on some of the drivers and developments that have shaped university science: the impact of collaboration in large university infrastructure which is clearly building national capability; the rise of big data which is enabling novel ways to plan, conduct and disseminate science research; and the evolution in the conduct of university science education which has seen developments that deliver changes in teaching and learning, pedagogy and content for the benefit of students, industry and society.
