Workshop series: Showcasing First Nations Australians’ Science in the HE curriculum

To support educators adding First Nations Science and knowledge to their curriculum, the Australian Council of the Deans of Science is supporting a workshop series titled “Showcasing First Nations Australians’ Science in Higher Education Curriculum” in person across Australia.

The workshops are based on A Guide for Curriculum Development: First Nations Australians’ Science, which was developed as a collaborative project comprising First Nations team members and advisors and non-First Nations team members across the nation.

Workshops are designed for academics teaching in tertiary science education who are interested in incorporating First Nations Australians’ science into their curriculum. Participants will explore the ‘guide’ and consider practical approaches to embedding First Nations perspectives within their own units. The aim is to build confidence and capability among academics to develop culturally relevant and appropriate learning activities that enrich science education for all students.

Events currently planned are listed below. If you are interested in hosting an additional open event (especially if your capital isn’t yet represented below), please contact Angela Ziebell on a.ziebell@deakin.edu.au
