ACSME registrations are now open

The countdown has begun and it is now time to register for ACSME 2021 online, September 29 to October 1

It is promising to be an exciting event around the theme Sustainable transformation of science education.

Here are some highlights:

  • Two keynote speakers:
    • Alison Flynn, University of Ottawa — a 3M National Teaching Fellow in Canada, a member of the Global Young Academy, a recipient the Chemical Institute of Canada’s Award for Chemistry Education, and co-recipient of uOttawa’s Transition to Online Learning Leadership Award.
    • Jack Wang, The University of Queensland – the 2020 AAUT Australian University Teacher of the Year, a recipient of the 2020 Australian Society for Microbiology David White Teaching Excellence award, and the 2020 (AAUT) Award for Teaching Excellence (Biological and Health Sciences).
  • Three discussion panels:
    • Are large lectures a thing of the past? Convened by Andrew Kepert, The University of Newcastle
    • What is the future of assessment? Convened by Shannan Maisey, The University of New South Wales
    • Learning from each other: a tale of two education sectors. Convener: Reyne Pullen, The University of Sydney.
  • Twelve sessions of contributed talks on topics of great relevance to those at the chalkface.
  • A poster session with numerous teaching and assessment ideas being developed or tried around the country.
